Being raised as a Christian, ministry, and fellowship became my life. I couldn't imagine living without involving myself in the church. It stayed like that until life revealed its true self to me.
I struggled to live out the words in Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV) which states, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
Realizing that in order to live, I had to work five days a week, spend at least 11 hours a day including travel time, and then get a few hours of rest before waking up and preparing for work again, I knew I had to spend the last two remaining days of the week either to rest, or to spend time with my family.
As a young professional and a single parent at that, I find it difficult to live my Christian life the way I used to. I couldn't go to church regularly on Sunday mornings like I used to. I couldn't stay with my fellow believers until Sunday midnight because life became so different for me.
The fellowship I had that used to be encouraging and strengthening became undeservingly tiring and felt more like a burden since people around me started demanding for my time and my commitment. I had no peace. I felt troubled.
This was when God brought EFC Powerhouse to my life.
All I asked God was to find that peace again when I go to church. So it is true that when you ask something from Him, He will give you exceedingly beyond what you can ask or imagine. God did not just give me that peace I needed but He also brought me back to the ministry.
Powerhouse, indeed, is a ministry established by young professionals through Christ for our fellow young professionals. Here, it feels so good that I get to serve God with amazing people who understand my situation. Not only do we understand each other’s journey, but we also help each other to strengthen our faith in God. I couldn't be more grateful to God for letting me be surrounded by these like-minded people as we all wait for Christ's glorious return.

Joshua Samuel Valido currently works as Trainer 2 in a BPO Company. At the moment, he is happily serving the Lord as one of the core leaders of EFC Powerhouse and as a part of the PH Band.
