Have you ever found yourself scrolling through social media and seeing nothing but people’s highlights?

A friend buying a new house.
A brother getting a new car or recently getting married.
Another friend traveling the world or celebrating a promotion.
And there you are — lying in bed, scrolling, asking God, “When is my turn?”
And then you start to feel like your life is ordinary, maybe even a little boring compared to what you see online. You look around and see the government slowly collapsing, corruption growing, and you feel robbed and helpless. Quiet fears creep in about what the future holds because, truthfully, life’s been a little heavy lately.
But the Bible says in John 8:36:
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
Maybe you’ve been walking a path of comparison, or maybe you’re anxious about what lies ahead. But here’s the good news: God has already freed you from it. You are not a slave to your thoughts, your fears, nor the pressures of the world — you are free.

In Galatians 5:1, it says:
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
Christ has already set us free — yet so often, we step back into the cage by comparing our journey to someone else’s, or by worrying about a future only God can see.

Freedom in Christ means trusting that your story unfolds at His pace, not the world’s. It means believing that you are already enough because He is enough. It means resting in the truth that the One who holds your future is faithful and good.
So the next time you see someone sharing the highlights of their life, remind yourself of this:
God is not late in your story.
You are not behind.
You are simply walking in the freedom and timing that He has prepared for you.
And in that — there is peace.
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, thank You for setting me free. Free from comparison, fear, and the lies that I’m behind. Help me to rest in Your timing and trust in Your plan. Remind me daily that my worth isn’t measured by what I see in others, but by who I am in You. Amen.
REFLECTION:
What areas of your life have you allowed comparison or fear to steal your peace — and how can you surrender them back to Christ today?
