The Angel of Death is marching to reap the souls of the firstborn. May it be animal or human, surely will suffer a grim fate— death.
Passing through the lands of Egypt, there the Angel of Death came, sent down by God to strike down every household. Such divine judgment was in response to Pharaoh’s stubborn denial to release the Israelites from slavery.

Surely, merciful, God provided a way out of death— blood. Blood of a sacrificial lamb. Blood— a symbol of sacrifice and redemption. They were instructed to mark their doorpost as it would serve as a sign to the Angel of Death to spare those within the marked homes. The Angel of Death passed through each home, claiming the lives of the firstborn. However, through obedience and mercy, those within marked houses with the blood of the lamb were untouched, their inhabitants safe from the divine wrath. Death is surely terrifying. We cannot escape it. Yet, one thing is certain. Death cannot triumph when you are covered by the blood.
"For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God." - 1 Peter 1:18-21
It is not gold or silver that has redeemed us. We are redeemed from death by Jesus’ blood, a lamb without blemish or defect— the perfect sacrifice.
Do you fear death? Fret not. As Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
