“I will never do it again!” said the husband to her wife— broken after hearing the confessions of his affair. We may have seen it in movies, or real life, while others, sadly, have experienced it themselves. We can feel the deep wound even without experiencing it. We can only imagine it but our heart aches about the thought of it happening to us.

There are two sides to this: The victim and the offender. We often see ourselves as victims. According to a study by gitnux.org market-data report, only 5% marry their partner after having an affair while 57% who experienced affair in their relationship ends up in divorce. It is clear as day that the only logical thing to do is to leave the relationship since it will most likely end up in separation.
We do not want to live in a world full of hurt, or commit in a relationship with someone who has hurt us and then spend the rest of our lives resenting. But what if we are the offender? Do we want to see ourselves forgiven? Will we do anything in our power to get the love of our life back?

The study above shows that there is very slim chance of being forgiven and having relationships mended. It is difficult to redeem the love back when it has lost its ember— like a candle’s wick burnt to crisp. The victim may still love the offender, but the offender's claims of love may fall on deaf ears.
Love is complicated, and it seems that it's all too easy for it to fade away. We search for it relentlessly, without really knowing what we're looking for. We dig into each other's hearts, but often all we find is dirt. Our selfish intentions and desires get in the way, and we end up hurting one another.
Despite our failures, there is one love that never falters - Jesus' love for us. As it says in Romans 8:38-39, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

We've all experienced moments where we've felt unloved or have gone through heartbreak. But the truth is that nothing can separate us from the unwavering love that Jesus has for us. It is a love that has never left us and never will.
Nothing can separate you from His unmeasurable love — a love which does not burn, but one that brings you warmth.
