God brought me to humility. With only a few coins in my pocket—barely enough to return home—I surrendered everything and recognized His sovereignty. Voiceless, I cried out to Him, allowing my heart to express that I am nothing without Him. Adonai—a name I have called upon without truly living as His servant. During that transformative Powerhouse Weekend, the Lord revealed to me the true essence of His name, Adonai.
Adonai means Lord, Master. For those who regularly attend church and connect with fellow believers, it feels instinctive to discuss God and refer to Him as Lord. But what does His Lordship truly signify in our lives? Are we genuinely living as His servants?

Bishop Paul emphasized in his teaching that referring to God as Adonai signifies our recognition of His authority over us. Our jobs are not merely a reflection of our abilities, nor are our roles in the ministry solely based on our talents. It is through God's grace that we are appointed. We are entrusted by God so that we may serve Him through these responsibilities.
Adonai holds authority over our circumstances. When we address Him as Lord in our prayers, we must remember that He possesses the ability to calm the storm, transform water into wine, and summon the dead to rise with just His words.
More than merely a master, He is a compassionate guide—the Lover of our soul. No earthly master can love us quite like Adonai does. Picture this: someone who stands above you, possessing authority over all masters and capable of managing every situation, also being your lover. Could you still find a reason to doubt? Would He not fulfill your requests? He would go above and beyond, giving you even more than you deserve.

In the context of Israel's history, masters possess control over the lives of their servants. In Christianity, Adonai is our source of life. As His servants, we are called to dedicate our lives to His service by fulfilling the tasks assigned to us. It is essential for us to recognize His voice and respond with obedience. Living with Adonai as our life means embracing a life of submission; when we submit, we listen, we obey.
More than just a name, more than just a worship song, Adonai holds a deeper significance than we previously understood.
