As a first-time mom, the journey of motherhood has been a beautiful, yet backbreaking experience. However, the joy of welcoming new life into this world can be overshadowed by the pain of grief. This month, as I remember the first anniversary of my father's death, I reflect on my journey as a mother who found solace in God’s grace in the midst of grieving.

Looking back on what I have been through over the past year, it has been a blessing to be able to see the goodness and faithfulness of God despite the loss of a loved one. It also has been a blessing to recognize God’s grace amidst the hardship of figuring out how to be a mom — embracing God’s grace amidst grief.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” - Psalm 34:18 (NIV)
In grief and the overwhelming responsibilities of motherhood, I found solace in God's promises. His mercy and grace are enough for me to overcome every difficulty in this life. He will never leave me nor forsake me. He is my Peace and my Comfort. He is my Father. Therefore, my heart is at ease.
In your personal journey, have you ever encountered a moment when you felt the comforting presence of God in the midst of grief? May this prayer help you find peace and solace that only God can give.
"Heavenly Father, as I dwell with grief and sorrow,
remind me that Your grace is sufficient each day of my life.
Give me the strength to face life and find joy in the middle of pain and suffering. Comfort me in times of distress, and lead my life according to Your will.
As I experience different phases of life, may Your abundant grace fill my life
and Your love fills my soul. Amen."
