POWERHOUSE DEVOTIONALS: ASK, SEEK, KNOCK

By Juliana Paula Vega

Have you, as a Christian, ever questioned God’s existence? Was there a time when you lost your faith and wondered about God's unconditional love and sacrifices for you?

When you hit rock bottom, it is easy to look around and feel some sense of doubt about God’s existence. It is not even difficult to wonder if the situation is a part of His plan. In those moments, you may feel lost.

As someone who has experienced the lowest of lows, I admit I also have a fair share of struggles when it comes to my faith. But I believe that these struggles are also part of our faith journey.

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." - Matthew 7:7-8

There are seasons when we feel discomfort and tears, yet these are also when our faith grows stronger. With this in mind, God encourages us to seek Him. He invites us to ask questions and come to Him with our fears and uncertainties. We are encouraged to ask, seek, and knock, knowing we will find what we are looking for. He promised to reveal Himself to us when we come to Him with a willing heart.

Trusting God is not always easy, especially during troubled times. Yet, it is a conscious decision that we should make every day of our lives. During our rock bottom moments, may we be reminded that God is our Rock. He is the solid foundation beneath us. He is our refuge. His ways are always better than ours. Thus, we should put our trust in Him, even when we feel like doubting.

Let us continue to seek God and His ways, trusting He will grant us wisdom through His grace. Even in those moments of uncertainty and disgrace, let us hold onto the truth that nothing can separate us from God's reassuring, perfect love.
