POWERHOUSE DEVOTIONALS: FROM THE WOMB TO THE NATIONS

By: Juliana Bejoc

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5

God created us with a purpose. He knows us even before we were born, even before we were formed. He doesn’t just have an idea of us—He knows us! When He created us, He already knew the mistakes we would make and included them in His plan. We may be imperfect, but we have a perfect God.

When God made us, He already set us apart. Just like Jeremiah, God called us for a reason—a purpose. It’s not an accident that you are here. Your life was intentional, crafted, and woven by God Himself. Nothing about you is random. God created you according to His calling. He called you to be the salt and light of this world. We are God’s representation. God created us to lead.

“Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book    before one of them came to be.” Psalm 139:13–16

Before you ever took your first step, God had already written every day of your life with leadership in mind. Leadership is not just a skill someone acquires along the way; it’s something God plants deep in a person’s identity even before their first breath. Leadership starts with a calling. It’s not about pushing ourselves toward a role we were never meant for—it’s about stepping into the plan God already made. Leadership begins when we understand that our life is not an accident and our influence is not random.

Some people are called to church leadership, some to lead a home. Some lead quietly in a corner without spotlights, while others lead nations. All leadership matters—it depends on where God has called us, not where we think we should be.

Jeremiah felt too young, too unprepared. He had doubts, yet God promised to be with him. Leadership rooted in Christ can sometimes be intimidating, but all we need is conviction, discipline, courage, and obedience.

If God formed you, knew you, and set you apart, then doubt has no place in your life. Step boldly into the purpose He has designed for you. Lead where He has called you—all for His glory.

Short Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for forming me with intention and calling me with purpose. Help me to see myself through Your eyes—chosen, set apart, and created to lead where You have placed me. Strengthen my heart when I feel inadequate, and fill me with courage to walk boldly in the purpose You ordained for my life. May my leadership reflect Your light and bring glory to Your name.

Amen.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Which part of God’s calling for your life do you struggle to believe or accept, and why?

  2. Where has God placed you to lead—whether in your home, work, church, or in quiet everyday moments?

  3. How does knowing that God formed, knew, and set you apart before you were born change the way you view your purpose today?
