EFC Powerhouse held its monthly Powerhouse Weekend on April 20, 2025, at EFC House of Bread, with the theme “Default Mode: ON” — a timely and powerful topic that tackled the importance of properly handling emotions. This topic aligned perfectly with EFC’s monthly theme, emphasizing emotional awareness and spiritual maturity.
The event opened with a dynamic time of praise and worship, setting the atmosphere for reflection and openness to what God had in store. Following this, a temperament test was led by the host, Mr. Menjie Bejoc, helping attendees identify which emotions they often express and which ones they deeply value.
During the discussion, Bishop Paul Hernandez delivered a profound and biblically grounded message on managing one’s emotions. He reminded everyone that, as Christian young professionals, while it is important to acknowledge our emotions, it is also vital to learn how to process and express them in a way that honors God.

He also elaborated on how emotions influence our behavior on social media, where instant reactions can often reflect internal struggles; in navigating emotional challenges in the workplace; and in maintaining emotional awareness within the church setting. He encouraged young professionals to remain rooted in Christ’s identity, especially when serving or leading others.

This Powerhouse Weekend wasn’t just about recognizing emotions — it was about learning to live with emotional discipline and submission to God’s will. The night concluded with attendees leaving with renewed hearts and a deeper understanding of how to reflect Christ, even through their emotions.
